The value of attracting more women to the manufacturing industry seems to be finally gaining traction here in Australia. In the US meanwhile 'Women in Manufacturing' has been given a whole different meaning.

The first-ever Precision Metalforming Association (PMA) Women in Manufacturing Symposium held October 25-26 in Cleveland brought together women in manufacturing from all over the country. "This event was extremely successful" said Allison Grealis PMA's Director of Member Services. "A high level of interest and indeed the need for such an event directed specifically to supporting women in manufacturing has been identified. The response to the networking opportunities and educational content was fantastic," she said. Allison and her team are already planning the 2012 Women in Manufacturing Symposium which will be on in October. Any Aussie women in the gear manufacturing industry fancy a trip to the US?!  Take a look at the program overview here.
