Applications are open for two positions at one of Australia's leading gear manufacturers, Ronson Gears: 1. A Fitter and Turner; 2. Fitter and Turner - CNC Setter/Operator.

A Fitting and Turning Apprenticeship is the beginning of an exciting career path at Ronson Gears according to Martyn Boatwood. A passion for working with his hands was the reason that as a 16 year old he signed up, indentured for four years to Ronson Gears as a Fitter and Turner apprentice - or as the qualification is better known now, Fitter and Machinist Apprentice.

On Christmas Eve 1993 two great Australian companies offered a Fitter and Turner Apprenticeship position to 17 year old Jason Graham. Qantas and Ronson Gears! Today 18 years on Jason is now Technical Manager at Ronson Gears, and has no doubt he chose the right company. "It was touch and go at the time, but in the end I chose Ronson because I didn't want to move to Sydney. And didn't that turn out to be the right move?! Not because of the mess Qantas is in now, but because of the excellent career opportunities I have had since commencing my apprenticeship at Ronson Gears!"

As we head into 2012, Ronson Gears is preparing for a busy year and all that goes with this looming scenario. Employing new staff, strengthening relationships with our existing staff, customers and suppliers, maintaining a strong and vibrant apprenticeship program, building on our strengths and reducing any weaknesses in our systems and processes, and manufacturing the country's most precise gearing!
