GEAR TALK - Selecting the right gear material

22 January 2010

It goes without saying that choosing the right gear material for gear manufacturing will result in a superior product, and by default, extend the life performance of your application.

There are a number of factors that impact the choice of materials suitable in gear manufacturing. The size, strength, durability and resistance of a particular material, the cost and method of manufacturing, the type of service and accuracy level required are all determining factors.

Interested in learning more on the subject? The AGMA will be hosting a Gear Materials Seminar in Florida this February from the 16-18. Simply click here for more details.

Cheers to Gears!
