During his years with the company Jason has travelled overseas three times for career training, witnessed huge business growth in what could generally be considered an ailing industry, enjoyed working with the latest technology, has a positive working environment and team, including a progressive and visionary direction for the company. But he also values the integrity of the company. Ronson Gears is a family business and is committed to solid and 'old fashioned' values, which extend right down to the training of its apprentices.
"While our industry is changing so quickly and the skills which are required for a Fitter and Machinist are changing equally as fast, I am confident that any apprentice who joins Ronson Gears will gain traditional manual skills of the trade as well as learning to use the latest technology. While our work is very much working with computers as a tool in the design and manufacturing process, we still have some of the older manual machines to ensure that our apprentices fully understand every aspect of their trade. Even if this equipment is no longer used for client work, I believe a Ronson apprentice will always have the enjoyment of working directly with the material, and a thorough grounding in his or her field, "said Jason.
Jason recommends a Fitter and Machine Apprenticeship as the road to success for anyone who is mechanically minded. "There will always be work for skilled Fitters and Machinists. With industries such as Aerospace and Mining dependent on products such as the gears produced at Ronson, our skills are only going to become more valuable," says Jason.
