GEAR TALK - Prioritising Energy Conservation

16 July 2010

The catchphrase ‘going green’ now has a stronghold in our daily lives − each time we turn on the TV or pick up the newspaper, we are reminded about our responsibility to conserve energy. Our efforts to reduce energy consumption in order to preserve resources for the future and reduce environmental pollution, are now paramount.

Gordon New, Managing Director at Ronson Gears, insists that ‘We all need to make energy conservation a priority at home and in our businesses’. Energy conservation can be achieved through increased efficient energy use, in conjunction with reduced energy consumption from conventional energy sources.

The American Gear Manufacturers Association have establised an Energy Efficiency Committee, a meeting of which will be held in the USA on July 20. The committee’s main goals are: the creation and development of assessment tools and standards; optimisation guidelines; and training in the area of energy efficiency.
