In our blog about the American Gear Manufacturers Association on April 1, Gordon New shared his delight at being accepted as a board member and discussed how the gear industry is maintaining a vibrant footing in a shaky economic climate. Part of this positive and healthy outlook is the willingness by gear manufacturers to stay in touch with new innovations and to upskill through educational opportunities.
The AGMA offers valuable education courses via its Foundation which promotes excellence in gearing through the advancement of gear science, standards and education. Some of the Foundation’s recent initiatives include: the creation of online Detailed Gear Design seminars which are proving a popular choice for those unable to travel to seminar locations; a resource book about gear vibration and noise – a critical topic when considering safe employee working environments; and the 2010 AGMA Foundation scholarships.
The scholarships will assist graduate-level engineering students whose programs focus on gear technology or gear research.Comments
